What’s there to say about Leonard Cohen? Poet, prophet, songwriter, sage – all true, yet insufficient. Perhaps the best way to appreciate the man and his oeuvre is, at just this time of year, staring down the shadows of autumn, to walk the Seine accompanied only by the greying twilight through the chestnut trees, or to hole up in the corner of the old El Quijote bar nursing memories as rich and bittersweet as the spirits in your glass. But rather than run our mouths off any longer, today let’s just wish him a happy birthday and have a listen to one of his best songs. So here he is, the great Leonard Cohen, remembered very, very well.
